Šírka pásma zastavovacieho pásma sa vzťahuje na šírku rozsahu zastavovacieho pásma, to znamená frekvenčné rozpätie medzi vysokými a nízkymi medznými frekvenciami. Filtre pásmového zastavenia majú rôzne miery útlmu, ktoré sa používajú na predstavenie stupňa útlmu signálu v rozsahu zastavovacieho pásma vzhľadom na signál v rozsahu PassBand Range. Niektoré filtre založené na pásme môžu mať vlnky v rozsahu PassBand, to znamená zmeny v zisku signálu v špecifickom frekvenčnom rozsahu. Vločky je možné ovládať konštrukciou a optimalizáciou filtra, aby sa zabezpečila kvalita signálu v rozsahu PassBand. Filtre pásmového zastavenia majú zvyčajne špecifické vstupné a výstupné impedancie, ktoré zodpovedajú požiadavkám impedancie zdroja signálu a zaťaženia.
Filtre založené na pásme sa bežne používajú v rôznych oblastiach, ako sú komunikačné systémy, zvukové vybavenie, zosilňovače, rádiové prijímače atď.
